It is our belief that everyone has the right to choose the language they prefer to describe themselves, whether it is identity-first language – “I am autistic” - or person-first language – “I am a person with autism.”  When working with individuals, Davis Autism Facilitators respect and use the language that the individual prefers.  On our website, we cannot individualize preference in this way.  

Many autistic people and advocates prefer identity-first language, because it indicates that being autistic is an inherent part of a person’s identity. Ron Davis himself also uses identity-first language, for the very same reason. Therefore, we have made the decision to use identity-first language throughout this website.

Ron Davis Autism Foundation (RDAF) encourages feedback and suggestions about the services we provide.  If a participant wishes to make a complaint, it should be brought to our attention as soon as possible.

RDAF will:

• Ensure that the complaint is taken seriously

• Deal with the complaint promptly and in confidence

• Discuss what happened and, where required and possible, put it right

• Learn from complaints and use them to review and improve their service
